On August 29, the National Standardization Management Committee issued an announcement that the "General Technical Requirements for Fire Monitoring and Early Warning Systems for Electrochemical Energy Storage Power Stations" GB/T 46261-2025 was approved and will be officially implemented on September 1, 2026. As an important technical standard in the field of electrochemical energy storage in China, this standard systematically constructs the standardized framework of fire monitoring and early warning system of electrochemical energy storage power station for the first time. Its core contents include:
The first is to clearly define the overall structure of the system and the terminology definition and classification system of core equipment to provide a basis for the unification of industry terms and product classification; The second is to stipulate the functional and performance requirements of monitoring and alarm devices in multi-parameter monitoring such as gas, temperature, smoke and pressure to ensure that the system can sense fire risks in multiple dimensions. Among them, for gas early warning, differentiated requirements have also been made for air cooling system and liquid cooling system respectively, and minimum alarm and maximum alarm setting values have been set for carbon monoxide and hydrogen respectively. The third is to clarify the technical requirements of key functions such as alarm triggering and linkage control of the control device, and to strengthen the rapid response and cooperative disposal capability in case of fire. The fourth is to put forward reliability requirements such as environmental tolerance and electromagnetic compatibility, as well as supporting inspection rules and test methods, ensure the stable operation of the system under complex working conditions.
Because the alarm threshold, response characteristics and fire entity experimental verification requirements of lithium battery energy storage are different from regular fire warning, the traditional fire detection and alarm technology is no longer applicable to the new energy storage field. In order to adapt to new fields and new situations, Shengsida focuses on the exploration and application of energy storage fire protection solutions. The new fire protection solutions effectively cope with the particularity of energy storage battery fires (such as sudden strong, rapid spread and explosion risk). At present, the solution designed by Shengsida, through early and accurate warning and efficient suppression, to curb the spread of battery thermal runaway, to ensure the safe and continuous operation of energy storage power stations in many parts of the world.
In addition, the release and implementation of this standard fills the gap in the standard of early fire monitoring and early warning products for electrochemical energy storage power stations, and marks that China has entered a new stage of systematization and standardization in the field of fire safety of energy storage facilities, providing solid technical support and standard guarantee for the safe development of energy storage industry. At the same time, it also provides a unified and authoritative technical basis for our subsequent product development, design and production, which helps us to produce more reliable and efficient products and promote the industry to a higher quality and safer development stage.
